We are a reception year class and have just started full-time school. Miss Smith is our teacher, Mrs Champon-Merrill is our classroom assistant and Mrs Dunn looks after us at lunchtime.
We hope you enjoy scrolling through our page and that you will come back and visit us often!
We really enjoyed our first term in 'big school' and it didn't take us long to settle nicely into our new class routine. We made lots of new friends and got to know each other really well.
BLAST OFF...! Last term we travelled to the moon and stars! We zoomed up to space and created chalk constellations, balloon planets and junk rockets along the way.
In literacy we learned about the adventures of The Gingerbread Man, retold the story using actions and props and created a class story map.
SPLASHDOWN...! Choughs also learned lots about water. We created our own water machines using guttering, pipes and funnels and had fun pouring it into different sized containers.

So far this term, our topic is matching the weather ~ icy and cold..!
We have been thinking about which animals live in conditions like these and how they adapt to the changing conditions when the ice melts and their habitats change.
Our focus in literacy is The Three Little Pigs and we enjoyed painting some piggy masks which we wore to retell the story using role play and created a huge floor book.
In numeracy we have been busy learning our numbers using beads, bricks and other resources.
