AUTUMN TERM 2019
Our topic this half term is recycling and we have been thinking about ways to look after our planet. For our homework projects, we have been keeping tally charts of all the objects that we recycle over a period of two weeks.
In literacy, we have been writing and creating wintery poems and have concentrated on developing our comprehension skills through reading. We are enjoying our Guided Reading Sessions which really help with our spellings.
In Maths, we are partitioning 2-digit numbers into tens and ones, ordering numbers to 100, learning our x2, x5 and x10 tables and solving lots of word problems using addition, subtraction and division with the help of our Maths Passports (see link opposite).
In RE, we have been thinking about times and celebrations that are special to us and learned about the wedding traditions observed by Hindu and Christian cultures.
PERSONAL SOCIAL HEALTH EDUCATION - This half term we will be exploring feelings. We will be discussing recognising emotions, accepting them and deciding how to handle them. We will use circle time to discuss any issues the children are having. We will also be thinking about making and keeping friends.
We are keen to promote Home Reading. The following links will take you to some excellent websites...
