Welcome Message From The Headteacher

Welcome to St Ives Infant School.

I hope that this website will provide a useful introduction to the school and answer the questions you will be thinking about as your child starts school.

As an infant school our prime responsibility is to ensure that the children’s early educational experiences are positive and that they develop the skills and attitudes upon which the rest of their education will be built. As the children ‘set sail’ we want them to be excited about the world around them and eager to learn. We do not know where their individual journeys will take them, or what their world will be like, but we will do all that we can to ensure that they are well prepared.

The school has six classes and a 52 place nursery. In addition we have a music room, library and community room, the Jubilee Room, which is used by a wide range of groups. The school grounds overlook the town and we have a wonderful view right across St Ives bay. Attractive outdoor areas are used by the children through the school day.

In the September after they are seven years old the children transfer to our partner Junior School which is on the same site.

If you have any queries or would like to make an appointment to look around please contact the school.

Yours sincerely
