Welcome

WELCOME TO ST IVES INFANT SCHOOL NURSERY

We are able to accept admissions after your child's third birthday and early application for a place is both welcomed and advised!

We currently have spare places in our nursery in the mornings and afternoons. Please contact the school office for further information.

From September 2017 St Ives Nursery School has been offering the 15 hours free entitlement as well as the 30 hours extended entitlement for those families who qualify for this provision. This entitlement can be used flexibly making use of the provision of breakfast club, morning sessions, lunch club and afternoon sessions. We are providing these extra clubs to cater for the needs of parents however you are not obliged to take up any of the extra sessions. This funding entitlement is from the term following your child's 3rd birthday.

Breakfast Club

The breakfast club is open from 7.45 to 8.45 in the school hall. Children must arrive by 8.30. The school cook serves a variety of hot and cold food. The breakfast staff will supervise the children and walk them to the nursery at 8.45. The breakfast club will count as one hour per day out of your entitlement, or costs £3.00 per day if it is added on to your 15 hours.

Morning Sessions

The morning sessions start at 8.45 and finish at 11.45. We have noticed from experience that children settle better and get into a routine more quickly if they attend nursery on the same days each week. One session will count as 3 hours out of your provision. You can also pay for an extra session as part of our extended provision at £13.00 for a three hour session.

Lunch Club

The lunch club runs from 11.45-12.30 and the children really enjoy staying for lunch; they sit and eat together in a calm and relaxed environment. Children who attend afternoon sessions can also stay for the lunch club arriving at nursery at 11.45.

Parents must provide a packed lunch and a drink. The lunch club will count as one hour per day out of your entitlement, or alternatively, costs £2.00 per day.

Afternoon Sessions

These start at 12.30 and finish at 3.30. We have noticed from experience that children settle better and get into a routine more quickly if they attend nursery on the same days each week. One session will count as 3 hours out of your provision. You can also pay for an extra session as part of our extended provision at £13.00 for a three hour session.

Reminder

  • Please let a member of staff know if someone different will be picking up your child. It is part of the whole school policy that we must know who is collecting if it is going to be a different adult.

  • Due to our current circumstances the school is having staggered start times and entrances for different classes.

  • Our gate for the morning is the bottom gate. Please arrive at the gate for 8:45, where you can walk your child up to the nursery.

  • At 11:45 and 12:30 for our children arriving and going home. A member of staff will walk your child to you or be there to collect your child from the top gate.
  • For the end of the day at 3:30 the bottom gate will be unlocked and this is our gate for nursery. If you have a child within the school in another year group, you may enter from the gate allocated to the child to be collected first. Collection at the end of the day is from the Nursery door.
  • Please ensure drop off and collections are on time. Gates will be locked 5 minutes after the start time to ensure gates are clear ready for the next classes arrival.
  • For easy reference, session times are as follows

  • Morning 8.45- 11.45

  • Lunch 11.45-12.30

  • Afternoon 12.30-3.30

  • Thank you!

Miss Emily Sturges

Nursery Teacher

I am a qualified teacher and I have now been teaching for 6 years.
I started my teaching career in Bath following an Early Years Specialism PGCE, where I taught both Year 1 and Year 2.
I love teaching the children in Pipit Class, we have a lot of fun with our learning and getting to know the children as individuals. I am very pasionate on ensuring each child feels valued within the class.

Before teaching I was a dancer and I travelled the UK performing. However, my passion was always working with children and I was so excited to share this with all the children that I teach.
